How to Shop Meat!!
Your health matters. Because you are surrounded with your loved ones. So if you are healthy you can serve others. If you are not fit you cannot serve others. If you continuously get sick and cannot perform your daily work that affects everyone around you. We are human and it is natural that not all days are the same. But if you notice you are feeling sick very often or weak or lack of energy, you need to take it seriously and pay attention to your living style. You have the right to live your life healthy and happy. For that being said, getting healthy is very very important.
Food is the vital source to make us healthy and happy. All our daily activities, mood, physical and mental health depends on what we are eating everyday. Are we
- Feeling energetic to perform our daily task?
- Is our mood positive?
- Is there any inflammation in our body?
- Am I bloated after eating?
Besides eating low carb, high fat and moderate protein are we consuming good quality meat and fish? Because protein takes a major part of our health issues.
Most of the stores are selling meat with antibiotics and hormones injected. Without knowing or reading labels we are consuming low quality food and leading us in dangerous health issues. When we go to the doctor nobody is going in the root but just trying to fix the current pain we are having. We are not getting enough education to choose good quality products over quantity.
This is so important to read the label of what we are eating and educate yourself to get healthy.
How to Read Label When You Shop Meat
Here I want to break down the basic meat and how to shop Beef, Chicken and Pork.
It is important that you pay attention to what you are buying and putting into your body.
Beef:
Always go for 100% grass fed and grass finished beef whenever it is possible. The reason you need to go for grass fed and grass finished beef is because grain fed cows eat GMO means genetically modified organism. That means what the grain fed cow eats are exposed to chemicals which are so inflammatory for our health. The quality of beef affects our overall well-being such as: weight gain, leads to higher blood pressure, blood clots and water retention.
If you cannot invest in 100% grass fed and grass finished beef, go leaner cut of beef as much as possible to add fat from other sources like avocado, olive oil, etc.
Organic beef is different from 100% grass fed and grass finished beef. Organic means no hormones and no antibiotic but it doesn’t mean the cow is grass fed and grass finished. So it is more important to check 100% grass fed and grass finished beef to avoid GMO and chemicals. So when you go buy beef make sure it is:
- 100% grass fed and grass finished
- Not just grass fed, always read the label to see grass fed and grass finished. Otherwise that cow might eat grass at some point of its life but not 100% grass fed and grass finished.
Benefits: More in vitamins, minerals, helps to lose weight, high in Omega 3
Chicken:
When you go to shop chicken or turkey go for lean to balance Omega 3 than Omega 6. Because you need Omega 3 rather than Omega 6. Because Omega 6 is inflammatory. Most of the chicken is fed a lot of grain and soy products. So make sure you are getting
- Lean chicken
- Organic chicken
- No antibiotics and hormones ever
- Air chilled chicken
Benefits: Healthy bones, immune boost, weight lose
Pork:
Go for pork belly to get the high quality fat to break into ketones. Pork belly is better than other parts of the pork meat. You can go lean with it by cutting the fat or you can eat pork belly with the fat. If you buy bacon go for pork bacon and without sugar. So when you buy pork make sure it is:
- Pork belly
- Bacon without sugar
Benefits: High quality protein, vitamins and minerals.
